Biography
Hokus Pick, a Vancouver-based alternative CCM outfit, came together in 1989 through singer/guitarist Russ Smith, guitarist Matt Pierrot, bassist Dave Strilchuk, and drummer Rick Calhoun. The quartet made its entrance in 1992 via Pick It Up, then earned a Dove Award nomination for International Artist of the Year the next year. Brothers with Different Mothers arrived in 1994 and received album-of-the-year honors from the Canadian Christian Music Bulletin. After releasing Bookaboom in 1995, Hokus Pick delivered The B-Sides in summer 1997 and followed it several months later with Snappy.
