Biography
Ida LaFontaine, a vocalist from Sweden known for her lively stage presence and powerful singing voice, specializes in energetic pop music designed for dancing. She entered the world in Stockholm during 1997. Her passion for singing emerged early, leading her parents to place her in classes at Sollentuna Music School once she reached four years of age. Rapid progress in her vocal abilities brought an opportunity in 2009, when the ten-year-old contributed vocals to “Hold On,” a track by Måns Zelmerlöw, a former contestant on Swedish Idol; the release reached the Top 30 on Swedish pop charts. Additional visibility came in 2011 through her participation in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish competition. Warner Music offered her a recording contract the next year, resulting in the issuance of her single “Dancing 4 My Life.” She put out “Yolo” as a single in 2013 before ending her association with the label. During this period, she pursued education at Rytmus Music School along with the Scandinavian Dance Academy while amassing a substantial following online via YouTube videos covering tracks originally performed by Olly Murs, One Direction, and Ne-Yo, among additional artists. Universal Music became her new label home in 2014, coinciding with the launch of her single “Anthem.”
