Biography
Infamous Mobb took cues from their fellow Queensbridge artists Nas and Mobb Deep. Mobb Deep first brought the three members—Ty Nitty, Gambino, and Godfather, Pt. 3—into view on Hell on Earth (1996) and Murda Muzik (1998), yet the group waited until 2002 to issue their own debut, following earlier guest spots on DJ Muggs’ second Soul Assassins album and Nas’ QB Finest collection. Special Edition arrived via the trio’s own IM3 imprint, distributed by Landspeed Records, and carried extensive beats from Alchemist. Two years afterward they delivered Blood Thicker Than Water, Vol. 1, once more self-released on IM3, this time through Monopolee. The package included a bonus DVD packed with music videos plus detailed interviews featuring multiple figures from the Queensbridge hardcore rap scene, an environment in which Infamous Mobb have long held a central role.
