Biography
Formed in Essex, England, during 1996, the alt-metal outfit InMe began under the name Drowned. An American Christian band already using that title forced a switch to InMe, which aligned with their 2001 signing to MFN. The group’s debut, Overgrown Eden, arrived in 2003 and was supported by several moderately charting singles. When MFN collapsed in 2004, V2 stepped forward with a new contract that granted the band its own imprint, Pandora’s Box Records. Their second album, White Butterfly, followed in 2005 and was issued in both standard and expanded editions that included two bonus tracks. In 2006 the live CD and DVD Caught: White Butterfly documented the touring cycle. Lineup adjustments occurred, yet InMe pressed ahead and delivered the third album, Daydream Anonymous, in 2007. Material tracked through the rest of that year and 2008 surfaced as Herald Moth, their fourth full-length, in 2009. A career-spanning collection titled Phoenix appeared the following year. A loyal audience kept attending shows and purchasing records, allowing the next two projects—The Pride in 2012 and Dawn in 2015—to be financed through crowd-funding. Dawn was positioned as the opening chapter of a planned trilogy that was later abandoned. The band’s seventh album, Jumpstart Hope, was released in 2020.
