Insania

German thrash outfit Insania originated in 1988 when vocalist F.R. Shorty, guitarist Gerald Nagy, bassist Jürgen Grziwotz (also known as Simon Sledge), and drummer Wolfgang 'Wolle' Haitz joined forces. A string of demo recordings and compilation spots eventually led to the power metal-infused debut album Set Them Free in 1993, followed two years later by One More...One Less, which introduced replacement singer Cheesy. Their 1997 release House of Cards preserved the group's melodic thrash approach, echoing Megadeth and occasionally Rage, yet stood out chiefly for adding bassist Jorg Dickgreber, bringing in female vocalist Alicia, and including an unexpected rendition of Alphaville's "Big in Japan." Vocalist Marc joined prior to the 1999 album Fear and remained in place for the subsequent effort Never, issued in 2002.
