Biography
Isabelle's Gift, a Columbia, SC outfit, unleashes an intense fusion of punk, metal, and Southern rock. The ensemble formed in the early 1990s and spent that decade operating chiefly as a regional act, issuing independent CDs while appearing at local venues. Eventually the group landed opening slots with multiple national acts, most prominently the Bloodhound Gang, and toured with them at length. That association produced the 2001 release Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms on Jimmy Franks Recording Company, the label owned by Bloodhound frontman Jimmy Pop. The band has earned attention for its brazen stage spectacles, which have included strippers, barbed wire, and blood along with other provocative touches, as well as its blistering musical attack. Its name serves as a sly reference to venereal disease.
