Biography
Hailing from Paris, where she came into the world in 1990, Izïa launched her career as a French rock singer with a self-titled full-length album that surfaced in 2009. She descends from French pop singer/songwriter Jacques Higelin, her father whose solo album debut occurred in 1971, and counts French pop singer/songwriter Arthur H as her brother, the latter having issued his own solo album debut that same year of her birth. The A/Z imprint of Universal Music handled release duties for her debut effort, which reached number 31 on the French albums chart. Songwriting credits on the project list Higelin working together with Sébastien Hoog and Antoine Toustou, the first of whom also plays guitar in her band, an outfit whose concert schedule has featured appearances at the Printemps de Bourges festival.
