Biography
Born and raised in England's South East London within the Lewisham borough, Jodie Abacus encountered diverse musical genres thanks to his father's role as a radio DJ. Such exposure clearly shaped his musical perspective. Released in 2015 via the Household imprint, his tracks "I'll Be That Friend" and "Good Feeling" blended post-disco R&B from the early 1980s with singer/songwriter pop in an energetic manner. These recordings evoked the output of a meticulous artist holding Hall & Oates and D Train in equal esteem. During his tenure as a BBC DJ, Zane Lowe featured the first of these singles. As 2015 concluded, plans were set for Abacus to deliver his inaugural headline performance at the start of 2016.
