Biography
Known primarily for his second-place finish on the 2011 season of Fox’s The X Factor, soulful singer Josh Krajcik possesses a powerful, frequently gravelly voice. Born in Wooster, Ohio, he took up piano and guitar during childhood and began playing live shows as a teenager. Around 2005 he assembled a steady lineup of musicians and began performing under the name Josh Krajcik Band. The group issued two albums, Ghosts in 2005 and Atavistic in 2011, while also securing opening slots for the Fray, Brandi Carlile, and additional acts. Krajcik gained entry to The X Factor in 2011 after auditioning with Etta James’ “At Last.” On the program he received guidance from former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger and ultimately placed second to winner Melanie Amaro. Once his run on the show concluded, he embarked on tour dates and started recording his major-label debut. In 2013 he issued the album Blindly, Lonely, Lovely, which included production and songwriting contributions from Adele producer Eg White and additional collaborators.
