Kerri Watt, a Glaswegian whose skills encompass singing, songwriting, and guitar, weaves together country, rock, blues, Americana, and contemporary pop in her work. The 2015 release of her hit single “Long Way Home” preceded a 2019 agreement with Cooking Vinyl and the arrival of her first full-length album, Neptune’s Daughter, in 2021.

She grew up in Milngavie, a suburb of Glasgow, before relocating to California at sixteen for enrollment at a performing arts high school. The following year she returned to London for drama school training and, after completing her studies, appeared in West End theater productions.

Turning toward music, she issued her debut single “Long Way Home” in 2015; BBC Radio 2 provided extensive airplay for both that track and the subsequent “The Wild,” which soon led to U.K. and European tours supporting Starsailor, Mike and the Mechanics, and the Overtones. In 2017 she joined the English alt-rock group Embrace for the track “Never” and also put out her own single “Old School Love.” The next year she journeyed to Austin, Texas, to cut new material with producer Machine, whose credits include Lamb of God and Clutch. She finalized her Cooking Vinyl deal in 2019, and Neptune’s Daughter reached listeners in early 2021.
