Biography
Hailing from Harpenden in England just north of London, singer/songwriter Emma McGrath leads with a voice that fuses delicacy and edge within her mature-sounding folk-pop. Tracy Chapman and Brandi Carlile rank among her chief influences. She started writing songs at age 12 and put out her debut EP, 2014’s The Judgement, at 14. The standalone single “Sit with Me” appeared in late 2015. In 2017 she received the PRS for Music Foundation Women Make Music grant, then co-wrote the single “Love You Better” with Grammy winner Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Sia). The track emerged in February 2018, two months before her second EP, the self-issued Silent Minds.
