Alicia Moffet first captured widespread attention in 2013 by claiming victory on the Canadian reality series The Next Star. Blending emotive pop with her commanding vocal presence, she later delivered her debut full-length Billie Ave. in 2020 and followed it two years afterward with the eight-track Intertwine.

A native of Quebec, Canada, Moffet had been immersed in singing from childhood and entered the 2013 edition of The Next Star at age fifteen. Advancing steadily through each stage of the competition, she secured the top prize and thereby obtained a recording contract for a single release with Sony. That track, “Why Do Boys Lie,” appeared the next year and launched her professional path, although nearly half a decade passed before she returned with new material. In 2019 she issued three separate singles ahead of her first album, Billie Ave., which reached listeners the following year. Throughout the subsequent twenty-four months she maintained a steady schedule of writing and recording, resulting in an acoustic EP drawn from the debut album plus a joint effort alongside fellow Canadian Shaun Frank. Intertwine arrived in 2022; its eight songs included the widely embraced “Lullaby” and a guest appearance by rapper and vocalist Zach Zoya.
