Biography
Harrison Brome works as a vocalist, songwriter, and producer, shaping material that leans toward understated and subtly unconventional takes on modern R&B, pop, and dance styles. The Vancouver native has issued several singles along with the EPs Fill Your Brains (2016), Body High (2018), and No More Love Songs (2019), each appearing on Nettwerk.
Early encounters with classic soul came through his mother. During childhood he addressed dyslexia by practicing with a karaoke machine she had purchased for him. At age 14 he composed his first song, and within a short span he began treating music as a full-time pursuit. His commercial introduction arrived in 2015 via the dusty, sparse ballad “Fill Your Brains,” which was included on the compilation Kitsuné Maison 17: World Wild Issue. Not long after turning 20 in July 2016, that same track served as the title cut for his first EP, issued through a licensing arrangement with the longstanding hometown label Nettwerk. The EP also contained “Midnight Island,” a song that reached Billboard’s Canada Rock chart before the year closed. In 2018 he delivered the follow-up EP Body High, then spent the subsequent twelve months rolling out three-quarters of the material that would form the 2019 set No More Love Songs.
