London-based singer/songwriter Georgia Buchanan records and performs under the name Call Me Loop, drawing from the era-defining pop acts of the 1990s and 2000s alongside the R&B wave of the 2010s. Buchanan started composing at five years old, harmonizing with Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears recordings while spending summers at dedicated pop training programs. After finishing university she committed more fully to music, acquiring guitar skills and mastering the Logic production platform. Although she first performed in a group setting, Buchanan soon shifted to independent songwriting and stage work, adopting her stage name from the affectionate term her mother used. Late in 2015 she issued her first single, “Love Bites,” cut alongside the Portuguese team INISCAL; the same producers joined her again for the 2016 release “Looking at You,” whose tropical-pop sound and straightforward vocal approach marked Call Me Loop’s breakthrough. That September she dropped the Benji Miller-helmed track “Losing My Mind,” which joined the later singles “As If” and “Know Me Better” on her 2017 debut EP Call Me Loop. Capitalizing on the project’s streaming traction, Buchanan closed the year with “Maybe I’m a Liar,” produced by Xenomania’s Toby Scott. In 2018 she teamed with London producer Hight for “Give ’n’ Take.”
