Becky Hill

Becky Hill possesses a remarkably mature and resonant vocal timbre infused with R&B elements, which has propelled her to contribute to numerous dance and pop tracks that have charted successfully. Her initial exposure came through participation in the inaugural season of The Voice UK, where she advanced to the semifinals. Notably, she became the pioneering contestant from the program to achieve a chart-topping single via her 2014 partnership with Oliver Heldens on "Gecko (Overdrive)," which ascended to the number one position on the UK singles chart. In 2019, the collection Get to Know Becky Hill, gathering her recordings spanning 2013 to 2018, secured a spot in the UK Top 20. This was succeeded by her inaugural proper studio release, Only Honest on the Weekend, issued in 2021 and incorporating successful joint efforts such as "Heaven on My Mind" alongside Sigala and "Remember" with David Guetta, among others. Subsequently, she lent her voice to Wilkinson's charting track "Here for You." Her sophomore album, Believe Me Now?, emerged in 2024.

Born on February 14, 1994, in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England, Hill already had musical experience prior to trying out for the freshly launched The Voice UK during 2012. During her teenage years, she performed alongside the acoustic rock & soul ensemble Shaking Trees, generating some regional attention and earning multiple airplays on BBC Radio. Her journey on The Voice UK saw her reach the semifinals through her compelling interpretations of R&B numbers from artists including John Legend and similar performers, until her elimination. She has acknowledged her inexperience in the music business at the time, which resulted in an 18-month period before securing a recording contract. Nevertheless, her alluring, soulful delivery, which conveyed maturity beyond her age, attracted considerable interest from dance music creators seeking guest vocalists. Her earliest released track, appearing on the British drum'n'bass musician Wilkinson's "Afterglow," attained the number eight position on the UK singles chart. She further collaborated on Rudimental's "Powerless" and performed with the group at various UK festivals throughout 2013, such as Glastonbury.

After attaining her initial major success alongside Heldens, Hill collaborated broadly with the London-based dance music maker MNEK and put out her first independent single, "Caution to the Wind." Launched in 2014, this track demonstrated a move toward a sound more rooted in electronica, featuring sparkling melodies and production that brought to mind the style of Four Tet. The Eko EP came out in 2017, followed by her reaching number 11 on the UK singles chart in 2018 with "Back & Forth," a joint project involving producers MK and Jonas Blue. During 2019, Hill entered the UK Top Ten courtesy of "Wish You Well" featuring Sigala as well as "Lose Control" in tandem with Meduza and Goodboys, the latter of which also claimed the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. These tracks formed part of the selections on the compilation Get to Know, which charted in the Top 20 that same year. An additional success arrived with Sigala in 2020 via "Heaven on my Mind," while the 2021 release "Remember," partnering once more with David Guetta, peaked at number 13 in the UK. Both of these appeared on Hill's debut full-length Only Honest on the Weekend, released in August 2021. Her Christmas EP came forth toward the close of that year. The next Wilkinson team-up, "Here for You," entered the UK Top 50 at the beginning of 2022. Hill also featured on the Galantis track "Run" and made appearances on recordings by David Guetta ("Crazy What Love Can Do") and Joel Corry ("History"). The year 2023 saw the emergence of "Heaven" and "Side Effects," the latter a collaboration with Lewis Thompson. Hill put forth Believe Me Now? in 2024; it climbed to number three on the UK charts and encompassed successful partnerships with Chase & Status along with Andy C.
