Biography
Born in Los Angeles, California, R&B performer Kesington Kross, also known as Kes, passed a significant portion of his early years in the adjacent Orange County region. Relocating under challenging circumstances to Compton, located south of Los Angeles, nurtured his self-described fantasy existence along with a passion for various creative expressions such as music. Influences from modern R&B alongside classic funk by Rick James, art rock courtesy of David Bowie, and synth pop from Depeche Mode shaped his style, drawing the notice of Babyface and L.A. Reid; this led to a recording contract with Epic, the imprint where Reid held the positions of CEO and chairman. Audio Justice, his five-track EP, appeared as a gratis download in December 2013 under the Kesington Kross name. Epic followed up two months afterward by releasing the track "Gimme Your Love" from that project in official single form.
