Biography
Rap duo Kinfolk Thugs shift between hedonistic and confrontational modes as they evoke the streets of Memphis following Hustle & Flow. GC Eternal and Tyme Bomb first appeared under the Kinfolk Thugs name in the year the film highlighted their hometown, issuing several independent mixtapes—including successive entries in the We Don't Play That series—prior to cutting the 2008 single "Dumptruck" for Rap-A-Lot. Years after the pair continued releasing further tapes through the early 2010s, "Dumptruck," also known as "Back It Up and Dump It" (or "Dump Truck [Back It Up and Dump It]"), gained viral traction and led the duo to reemerge in 2024 following an extended break via Back to Business. That EP-length project included a club revision of "Dump Truck (Back It Up and Dump It)" alongside several new songs, among them the slow jam "Back Seat" featuring Ladawn the Chameleon.
