Australian producer Kloke has explored multiple strains of bass music across his output, spanning garage, abstract house, and atmospheric jungle. Dubstep cuts marked his initial appearances in the late 2000s, after which he pursued more experimental paths via releases on Styles Upon Styles and Sub Squared. Around 2018 he pivoted toward jungle, turning highly productive through repeated work with Tim Reaper alongside solo efforts such as the 2022 EP Cosmik Connection, Vol. 2. Further prominent material surfaced in 2024 with On Rhythm and the Reaper collaboration In Full Effect.

Melbourne-based Andy Donnelly launched the Kloke project via the 2008 dubstep EP Suspended Animation on Entrada Recordings. Subsequent recordings reflected a gradual shift toward house, garage, and experimental techno. The 2012 EP Circuit Theory, released by Granholme, represented his first appearance on vinyl. That same year Donnelly participated in the Red Bull Music Academy in New York, contributing to its associated compilation alongside Smax. Styles Upon Styles issued Sea Levels in 2014, followed by the harder-edged and more experimental First Light on Sub Squared. The next year brought P.H.O.N.E. on Styles Upon Styles, which included a Hieroglyphic Being remix. Donnelly subsequently paused Kloke activity to focus on experimental ambient and electro under the Colours of Infinity name.

Kloke resumed with a jungle single on Coco Bryce’s Diamond Life label in 2018. Big Trouble arrived on Fresh 86 the following year, while the first Reaper collaboration, Tunnelvision, appeared on TempoCore in 2021. An EP followed on Reaper’s Future Retro London imprint in 2022, and the pair also placed a single on !K7; during the same period Kloke released the double EP Anemoia on Fresh 86 and Cosmik Connection, Vol. 2 on Unknown to the Unknown. Dark Knight came out on Run It Red in 2023, accompanied by two additional Reaper singles on Future Retro London. Early 2024 saw On Rhythm, FRL’s inaugural full-length release. Further activity included the EP Mindgame 3 on Mindgames and the cassette The Cosmik Connection: Lost Tape on Unknown to the Unknown. The Reaper collaboration In Full Effect marked Hyperdub’s first jungle release.
