Biography
Fuzati originated the project known as Klub des Loosers. The masked rapper from Versailles, France, devised a genuinely novel approach to the genre in the early 2000s. Working initially alongside DJ Orgasmic—who soon afterward became part of TTC—and later relying on DJ Detect for both turntables and production, Fuzati crafted a distinctive strain of hip-hop steeped in romantic despair, adolescent alienation, and misanthropy. Detect’s cinematic and groovy instrumentals formed the core of the sound, while Fuzati’s own delivery remained minimal or deliberately monotone. His lyrics delivered bitter reflections on personal shortcomings, sweeping animosity toward men and especially women, and the social constraints of life in Versailles. Such an unyielding stance suggested that the first Klub des Loosers album, released in 2004, could easily stand as a solitary statement. Nevertheless, despite recurring thematic motifs, Fuzati demonstrated ongoing invention through his contribution to the 2006 self-titled album by the French underground rap collective Le Klub des 7, which also featured an Air-produced track titled “Sous le Signe du V.” Both records have since earned recognition as twisted cult classics.
