Leyla Blue, a New York-based singer and songwriter, produces R&B-tinged pop built around memorable hooks and a perspective marked by wry empowerment, pairing introspective writing with widely accessible choruses. Her sound reflects the impact of Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, and Lorde, bringing early attention in 2019 through the debut EP Songs for Boys That Didn't Text Me Back. The next year brought wider notice when Y2K produced the single "Peppa Pig," which quickly turned into a viral success.

Born Leyla Blue Aroch in 2000, she spent her childhood in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood as the daughter of photographers Guy Aroch and Anna Palma. By age 13 she was devoting much of her spare time to singing and songwriting, absorbing influences from Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and Beyonce. Vocal lessons followed, and she received her diploma from New York’s Professional Children’s School, where the curriculum could be arranged around her emerging music career. After graduation she continued her training at NYU’s Clive Davis School of Recorded Music. While enrolled there she issued the 2019 EP Songs for Boys That Didn't Text Me Back, which contained the track "Silence," and followed it in 2020 with the standalone single "Peppa Pig" that achieved viral status.
