Lilyisthatyou serves as the performing alias for singer-songwriter Lily Davies, whose work fuses indie rock textures with hip-hop rhythms and dance grooves into an irreverent, empowered strain of pop laced with tongue-in-cheek wit. Her breakthrough arrived in 2020 via the sex-positive single “F.M.R.N.,” whose rapid online spread prompted the arrival of her first EP, The Character, in 2022.

Toronto-raised Davies entered a household shaped by two musician parents who nurtured her vocal development from an early age. By thirteen she had begun composing original material, citing Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, and Rihanna among her formative influences. After ending a damaging relationship, she channeled the experience into “Heaven or Hell,” which appeared in 2020. The release secured a management agreement and allowed her to refine her evolving style, yielding the infectious follow-up “F.M.R.N.” The track quickly circulated across social platforms, generating millions of streams. Additional songs emerged in its wake, among them “Party 22,” “Purity,” and “Moderation.” In 2022 she issued her debut EP, The Character, which gathered “F.M.R.N.” alongside the singles “Bad Energy” and “LSD.”
