Lisa McClendon, serving as both vocalist and songwriter, weaves jazz, soul, and funk with an urban neo-soul perspective into her thoroughly modern style of praise & worship gospel, producing a sound that has invited comparisons to Norah Jones and Lauryn Hill. Born in Jacksonville, FL, where she still resides, she joined the female urban group 3N1 shortly after finishing high school and toured with the act across the southeastern United States. Her solo recording debut came in 2002 with the critically acclaimed My Diary, Your Life on the Shabach Entertainment label. That project drew the interest of Mobile, AL-based Integrity Gospel, leading her to sign with the company and issue the impressive Soul Music in 2003. A hands-on recording artist, McClendon participated in the engineering and production of the album while working closely with producer and co-writer Mo Henderson. Her third album, Live from the House of Blues, recorded in New Orleans, appeared on Integrity Gospel in 2006.
