Ruth La'Ontra

Hailing from Pinehurst, North Carolina, Ruth La'Ontra Jones entered the world on July 22, 1992, as the daughter of Bishop Avetra Jones, who presided over Come as You Are Evangelistic Center in Aberdeen, North Carolina. Turning toward a career in modern gospel music, she abandoned her surname and self-financed an EP whose buzz drew the attention of Tyscot Records, resulting in a recording contract. The label released her debut album, So Good, in November 2013, where it reached number 19 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart. For the 2017 follow-up I Got You, she worked alongside producers Anthony Brown and Justin Savage.
