Norman Hutchins

A Los Angeles-based minister, Norman Hutchins works as a contemporary gospel artist whose releases have received Dove and Grammy nominations. He completed a doctorate in church administration and, nearly ten years later, entered the recording field with a self-titled album on the Sparrow label that ranked among the stronger contemporary gospel projects of 1992. Following one additional Sparrow release, he shifted to JDI and delivered several well-received albums across the late ’90s and early 2000s, among them Battlefield, his first Top Ten gospel disc. Success continued on the IR label with the issues Spontaneous Praise, Vol. 1, If You Didn't Know...Now You Know, and Hosanna. In both studio and church settings, his recordings sustained an accessible, uplifting character.
