Biography
Latice Crawford, the stylish gospel songstress whose bold, powerful voice has invited comparisons to Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Whitney Houston, grew up in the Bronx, New York. Her storefront preacher father and a cousin whose choir helped her sharpen her vocal abilities nurtured an early passion for gospel music there. She rose to prominence as a breakout star on season two of BET’s gospel competition/reality series Sunday Best, placing third. The same program introduced her to fellow contestant Jeff Spain, her future husband; together they appeared on the 2012 CentricTV reality show Almost Married. Her self-titled debut album arrived in 2014 and reached number 12 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart, followed by the EP Diary of a Church Girl in 2016.
