Biography
Tasha Page-Lockhart, a Detroit contemporary gospel performer and daughter of Lisa Page Brooks as well as a participant in her mother’s enduring ensemble Witness, captured the season-six title on the BET gospel singing contest Sunday Best. Victory brought the vocalist a deal on the RCA-linked Fo Yo Soul imprint overseen by one of the show’s judges, Kirk Franklin. Franklin handled production duties on every track of Page-Lockhart’s first album, Here Right Now. The 2014 release, containing a pair of songs the artist co-authored with her husband Clifton Lockhart, reached the number-three slot on Billboard’s Gospel chart. That same year she took the stage in productions of The Wiz and Deranged. Following her receipt of the 2015 Stellar Award for Best New Artist, Page-Lockhart completed The Beautiful Project, which arrived in 2017.
