Biography
Hailing from Miami, Florida, Maranda Curtis works as both a gospel singer and a praise-and-worship leader. Born and raised in the same city as the daughter of Pastor W.S. Curtis and his wife Darlene, she began performing as a child before turning professional later in life. In 2010 she married Pastor Jamill Willis and took his surname; under the name Maranda Curtis Willis she issued her first single, “Don’t Take Your Love Away,” in 2012. The couple divorced in 2016, after which she resumed her birth name. Maranda Curtis issued her debut EP, The Maranda Experience, Vol. 1, in 2017; it entered Billboard’s gospel chart at number one that August. The live concert album Open Heaven: The Maranda Experience Live followed in 2018.
