Biography
The quintet Luxt, fronted by singers Anna Christine and Erie Loch, blends traditional guitar, bass, and drums with extensive keyboards, electronic sequencing, and audio manipulation, evoking the darker, Gothic aspects of Nine Inch Nails alongside an equally somber mood in its songs. Their initial recording effort came via a rendition of Gary Numan's "Cars" for the 1997 various-artists collection Newer Wave, soon followed by their first album, Disrepair, that same year. Next came Razing Eden in 1998, which displayed enhanced compositional skills, a trait that carried over into Chromasex Monkeydrive two years later. Progressive refinement marked their output, culminating in the 2003 effort American Beast, which represented their finest fusion of industrial rock with nü metal.
