Pop-oriented R&B vocalist and composer Lyrica Anderson recognized her vocation during middle school after delivering a rendition of Brandy’s “I Wanna Be Down” in a talent showcase. Backed by her mother, the Los Angeles-area suburbanite began navigating the industry as a teenager soon afterward. Between 2004 and 2009 she supplied songs to Tamia for “More,” Keke Palmer for “Footwurkin’,” and Webbie for “I Miss You,” while also contributing background vocals to various studio dates. Greater visibility arrived in 2010 when she co-wrote “Pyramid,” the Top Ten pop single recorded by Charice. Subsequent writing credits followed for Beyoncé on “Jealous,” Tinashe on the number 34 R&B/Hip-Hop single “Pretend,” and Jennifer Hudson on “Walk It Out.” Although she maintained ties to Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group and issued “Love Me” via its Interscope-affiliated outlet, Anderson ultimately chose an independent path. Following a mixtape and an EP, she unveiled her official debut album, Hello, through Empire Distribution in 2015; guest spots on the project came from the Game, Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and YG. In 2016 she joined the cast of the reality series Love & Hip Hop Hollywood and wed fellow cast member Floyd Bentley, also known as A1. The next year brought the sequel Nasha Pearl, which included appearances by Brown and Sevyn Streeter.
