Spanish singer Maria Carrasco entered the world on July 15, 1995, in Torrecera, a modest Cadiz settlement. Her vocal talents and command of flamenco had already drawn notice by the time she turned eight, prompting those around her to steer her toward the television contest Veo Veo. She claimed the top regional prize, which advanced her to the national finals and secured fourth place overall. Producers of the Canal Sur children’s program Menuda Noche reached out to her the following year, and her regular appearances there soon led to joint performances with established figures such as Valderrama and José Mercé. That same summer brought multiple offers to perform at Andalusian festivals, among them the Festival del Moscatel de Chipiona and the Festival de la Petenera, where she encountered leading members of the flamenco community. In 2006 film director David Serrano cast her in a principal part for the motion picture Dias de Cine, featuring her renditions of “Falsa Moneda” and “Siete Cascabeles.” Her first solo album, Hablando con la Luna, appeared in 2007 and met with strong approval, reaching number 14 on the national charts and registering with Spanish listeners.
