Markoolio

Markoolio has often been viewed as the Swedish counterpart to Biz Markie. Marko “Markoolio” Lehtsolo, who entered the world in Finland during 1965, constructed a recording career around a series of Swedish-language comedy-rap singles whose lyrics centered on parties, girls, and beer. His first long-player, Sticker Hart, appeared in 1998 and spawned multiple charting tracks such as “Vi Drar Till Fjallen” together with “Bira Laten,” a tribute to beer. Across the following ten years he issued five additional albums while making frequent television appearances. In 2007 Varsta Plattan arrived, highlighted by the comedic single “Varsta Schlagern,” performed as a duet with Swedish pop star and Melodifestivalen veteran Linda Bengtzing; the album reached the Swedish Top Ten that summer.
