Biography
Masta Ace, the Brooklyn-based Juice Crew affiliate, assembled the short-lived studio outfit Masta Ace Incorporated, which included Leschea, Lord Digga, Paula Perry, and the brothers Eyce and Uneek. Working with the Delicious Vinyl imprint, the collective issued two albums that each registered on the Billboard 200—an uncommon achievement for uncompromised, independently distributed rap projects. Their 1993 debut, SlaughtaHouse, stood out for its inventive fusion of West Coast and East Coast sounds. In 1995 the group delivered a second set, Sittin' on Chrome, whose darker, more measured tone was tempered by comparatively polished production. Afterward, the participants pursued separate endeavors. Both albums resurfaced in expanded editions during the early 2010s.
