France's longstanding legacy of comic performers who also sing finds fresh representation in Max Boublil, whose presence has dominated French television, cinema, and live venues from the opening years of the 2000s onward. Maximilien Leon Boublil entered the world in Paris during 1979; initial notice arrived through his performances in the movies Les Gaous and Les Amateurs, the programs Sous Le Soleil, Navarro, and Mystere, plus multiple prominent commercial campaigns. The provocative single "Ce Soir…Tu Vas Prendre" became a hit for him in 2007, after which he secured a hosting position on Canal +'s Le Grand Journal and launched repeated sold-out runs that encompassed the solo productions Max Prend la Route and Le One Man Musical. His first full-length release, the cleverly named L'Album, arrived in 2011 carrying the contentious tracks "Chanson Raciste" and "Susan Boyle," with Le 2eme Album appearing twelve months afterward.
