An urban five-piece ensemble merges classic R&B elements of vocal harmony and soulful expression to craft a style typical of 1990s R&B ensembles. Fronted by lead singer Prathan "Spanky" Williams and supported by George Spencer III, Brian Deramus, Desmond Greggs, and Corley Randolph, Men of Vizion issued multiple R&B chart singles including "House Keeper," "Do Thangz," and "Do You Feel Me? (... Freak You)." Among their better-recognized tracks stand "You Told Me You Love Me," "Forgive Me," and "That's Alright," many of which unfold through ballad pacing and layered harmonies.

The quintet originated in Brooklyn after its members first connected at La Guardia High School of Music and Art. Randolph studied classical piano while performing regularly at his mother's church; Greggs not only sang but also wrote and produced the group's singles and albums. Intent on securing a major-label contract, the members rehearsed daily and accepted every available performance opportunity, appearing at parties, talent contests, and neighborhood nightclubs in their formative period. Their efforts culminated in a signing with Jade Productions, after which New Jack vocalist Teddy Riley helped secure a deal with MJJ Music.

The 1996 debut album Personal channeled the band's full range of convictions and feelings, encompassing love, romance, and sensitivity. Beyond their own hits, Men of Vizion collaborated with Tasha Scott, Sherri Blair, and Teddy Riley, and they revived the Jackson 5's 1977 single "Show You the Way to Go." Over a brief recording career the group drew broad urban listenership through national tours and live appearances, drawing frequent comparisons to R&B icons Boyz II Men and Babyface. Their continued appeal stems from grounding lyrics in personal relationships and lived events. Following the release of Personal, Deramus, Greggs, and Randolph departed the lineup.
