Biography
Mokobe Traore, a French rapper, began as part of the collective 113 before gaining recognition through his first solo album Mon Afrique in 2007. On that project he brought his Malian heritage forward with contributions from noted African performers such as Youssou N'Dour, Amadou & Mariam, Tiken Jah Fakoly, and Salif Keita, among others, plus the French hip-hop artists Booba and Diam's. The clip for "C'est dans la Joie" received extensive play on music television outlets and ranked among the strongest French hits of 2007.
