From her family's deep musical roots arises singer Noah Cyrus, whose emotionally charged style merges present-day pop with country influences. Early notice arrived through acting, including turns on Hannah Montana with sister Miley and dad Billy Ray, but the 2020 EP The End of Everything truly separated her from the pack, placing her on the Billboard charts and yielding a Best New Artist Grammy nomination.

Cyrus entered the world in 2000 and spent her Nashville upbringing as the daughter of producer and director Tish Cyrus and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. Her siblings include singer Miley Cyrus, actress/DJ Brandi Cyrus, and singer/guitarist Trace Cyrus. Acting work began at age two with an episode of the series Doc. Further parts followed, encompassing regular appearances on Miley's Hannah Montana and film roles such as Mostly Ghostly. Those experiences led to her voicing Ponyo for the English-language edition of Hayao Miyazaki's 2008 anime film and performing the theme song with Frankie Jonas. She also co-created the web series The Noie and Ems Show alongside Grace Reaves.

After signing with Barry Weiss' Records label, Cyrus issued her first single, "Make Me (Cry)," in November 2016. The Labrinth collaboration reached the Top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100. She spent 2017 and much of 2018 dropping singles ahead of the planned debut album NC-17. Instead, September brought her opening EP; Good Cry contained the singles "Mad at You" with Gallant and "Punches" with LP. That October the EP climbed to number 13 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. The single "July" surfaced, appropriately, in July of the next year; that November a duet version with soul singer/songwriter Leon Bridges appeared, charting on the Billboard Hot 100 early in 2020 and earning platinum certification in multiple territories.

Months afterward came her second EP, The End of Everything. With an appearance by Ant Clemons, the set sat between Billie Eilish and Kacey Musgraves, offering a pop-driven collection accented by country and gospel touches. Release marked her first Billboard 200 placement. Two collaborations with PJ Harding, "Dear August" and "You Belong to Somebody Else," surfaced in early 2021. By year's close she had also received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Issued in September 2022, her full-length debut The Hardest Part reached number 13 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, helped by heavily streamed singles such as "I Burned LA Down" and "Mr. Percocet." A couple of months later Cyrus and Harding reunited for the Christmas single "Snow in LA."
