Nstasia

Singer/songwriter Nastasia Griffin spent her childhood in Asheville, North Carolina, as the daughter of a music-industry professional. From her earliest years she logged countless hours inside recording studios and absorbed music as a constant presence. She later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, for college, signed a publishing deal, and wrote material for major acts such as Usher and Major Lazer. After settling in Los Angeles she began issuing her own recordings, releasing the single “Here in My Skin” through Sony/ATV in 2015; the track was featured in an episode of the drama Being Mary Jane. She subsequently adopted the stylized name Nstasia and prepared her debut album, New Religion. Issued in late 2017, the project recast her songwriting in dreamier terms, employing Frank Ocean-inspired production and exploring more daring, explicit themes than her earlier mainstream work. Skrillex supplied production for the single “Parachute.”
