Biography
Minneapolis scenester and songwriter Ian Anderson established the indie pop outfit One for the Team to find an outlet for songs that did not suit his other project, Aneuretical, taking care to note he is unrelated to the Jethro Tull vocalist of the same name. What began as a purely studio endeavor alongside drummer Elliot Manthey and bassist John Krueger evolved into a committed, full-time band once the self-released 2006 album Good Boys Don't Make Noise proved successful. Subsequent personnel shifts ultimately produced a stable lineup of Anderson, Manthey, Grace Fiddler, and Jacob Huelster. The quartet maintained a rigorous touring schedule behind its 2008 follow-up, Build It Up, appearing alongside peers Dressy Bessy, French Kicks, and Frightened Rabbit, then returned to the studio to complete the eight-song EP Build a Garden in 2009.
