Biography
Paperwhite is a dreamy electropop duo formed by siblings Ben and Katie Marshall, both Berklee College of Music alumni. The pair began composing material together during their teenage years, yet they waited until Katie completed her studies at Berklee in 2013 before launching the project, which takes its name from a variety of narcissus flower. Katie assumed lead vocal and songwriting responsibilities, while Ben—who also serves as drummer for Savoir Adore—handled production, arrangement, co-writing, and backing vocals. Their first single, “Got Me Goin’,” appeared in January 2014 and was soon followed by additional tracks gathered on the Magic EP by year’s end. The duo’s next release, the 2016 EP Escape, brought widespread critical praise along with substantial streaming attention. Several 2017 singles—“Human Nature,” “Wash Us Away,” and “Only Us”—appeared ahead of another EP slated for later that year.
