Pepe Benavente

Pepe Benavente, a Spanish vocalist, achieved his greatest visibility by serving as host of the weekly program ¡Quiero Ser Como Pepe! on Televisión Canaria. Although his recognition reaches the Spanish mainland in modest measure, it stays concentrated inside the Canary Islands, where he lives in the archipelago capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. His recorded output comprises the 2005 album Canta Mexico and the 2007 collection 636 Horas con Mi Gente, the latter containing the extended version of the show’s well-known theme, “Quiero Ser Como Pepe.”
