Per7ume

In 2008 the Portuguese pop/rock outfit Per7ume issued their first commercial recording, the single “Intervalo,” which promptly ascended to the summit of the national chart. The group had formed the previous year in Porto, Portugal, with A.J. Santos on vocals and guitar, José Meireles on guitar, Nélson Reis on bass, Bruno Oliveira on drums, and José Luís Rodrigues on keyboards. “Intervalo” was recorded as a duet with Porto native and Portuguese rock legend Rui Veloso. Its chart-topping performance cleared the path for the band’s self-titled debut album, Per7ume, which reached the Top Ten upon release in 2008. From that album came the additional singles “Azul,” “Novo,” and “Ao Ouvido,” after which the project returned in 2009 as a Special Edition CD/DVD package.
