Perrie Edwards, who performs under the single name Perrie, is a British vocalist primarily known for her role in the girl group Little Mix. Her warm soprano, positioned prominently in the ensemble’s mix, contributed to every one of the band’s six albums reaching the U.K. Top Ten. Following the group’s decision to enter an indefinite hiatus in 2022, she began her individual career, entering the U.K. singles Top Ten in 2024 via the track “Forget About Us.”

Perrie Louise Edwards entered the world in 1993 in South Shields, Tyne, and was raised in Weymouth, Dorset, with several years also spent in New Zealand. After finishing primary education she enrolled in performing-arts studies at Newcastle College. During 2011 she tried out for the television contest The X Factor and was grouped with Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock to form Rhythmix. The quartet later adopted the name Little Mix on the program and ultimately claimed victory.

While part of Little Mix, Perrie appeared on six studio albums—DNA (2012), Salute (2013), Get Weird (2015), Glory Days (2016), LM5 (2018), and Confetti (2020)—each of which entered the U.K. Top Five and the Billboard 200. The releases yielded such successes as “Cannonball,” “Wings,” “DNA,” “Move,” “Black Magic,” “Shout Out to My Ex,” and “Sweet Melody,” among others. The group collected three Brit Awards, including the distinction of becoming the first girl group to receive the British Group prize.

Little Mix operated as a trio of Perrie, Thirlwall, and Pinnock after Nelson departed in 2020. The collective then suspended activities indefinitely in 2022 so that its members could explore separate ventures. Perrie introduced her solo work in April 2024 with the single “Forget About Us,” whose lyrics were co-written with Ed Sheeran; the song climbed to number ten on the U.K. Singles chart. That June she issued a follow-up single titled “Tears.”
