Biography
Piero Mazzocchetti entered the world in Pescara, Italy, in March 1978. Formal piano instruction commenced at the Conservatory of Pescara once he reached six. During early adolescence he shifted focus toward vocal technique, training under master Mariateresa Giammarino, whose earlier pupils had included Luciano Pavarotti. By sixteen he was performing regularly in local piano bars, where his command of both instrument and voice drew consistent attention. Shortly afterward an engagement in a Monaco de Baviera piano bar brought him to Germany, where audiences embraced him and turned him into a regional favorite. A Universal contract followed, resulting in the release of his first album, L'Eternita. With club work behind him, he launched a nationwide German tour of arenas and theaters. The follow-up album Parole Nuove carried his audience into Austria and Switzerland. After issuing a third album he appeared in stadiums before crowds ranging from forty to sixty thousand. In 2006 his schedule extended across the Americas, Europe, and North Africa. Broadcast performances with Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Whitney Houston, José Carreras, and Phil Collins elevated his profile. Another milestone arrived at the 2007 Sanremo Festival, where he placed third.
