Japanese-born electronic musician Qrion crafts an appealing, luminous fusion of progressive house and ambient house. Her initial forays surfaced in the early 2010s; as she honed her approach across numerous EPs and remixes, international touring followed, with shared bills alongside Above & Beyond and Tourist, before the 2022 release of her debut album, I Hope It Lasts Forever.

Born Momiji Tsukada and raised in Sapporo, she first experimented with electronic production on her phone during high school. After successive equipment upgrades, she posted tracks online as Qrion that spanned ambient experiments and gritty yet atmospheric dance material. Unexpected attention from multiple netlabels resulted in her earliest EPs and first live performances. Within a few years she delivered remixes for Porter Robinson, Giraffage, and How to Dress Well, plus a 2014 collaboration with Ryan Hemsworth titled "Every Square Inch."

Qrion relocated to San Francisco in 2015, prior to learning English, at which point her sound took on stronger house influences. A self-titled EP surfaced in 2016, and the two-song Trip EP appeared on Nest, an OWSLA sublabel, in 2017. Two self-released GAF EPs followed in 2018 and were later compiled for a Record Store Day 12" in 2019. She joined the Anjunabeats roster that year, issuing Sapporo and Sine Wave Party (with Spencer Brown) on Anjunadeep in 2019, then remixing tracks by Above & Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden, and Catching Flies. Additional singles and EPs paved the way for her debut album, I Hope It Lasts Forever, which arrived on Anjunadeep in 2021.
