R.LUM.R, born Reginald Lamar Williams, Jr. as a Florida native and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, centers his work on mature, pop-oriented R&B. A genuine falsetto forms part of his vocal range and receives measured, thoughtful application. Headway arrived in 2015 through the self-released singles "Show Me" and "Be Honest," atmospheric yet rhythmic ballads. Further material appeared in 2016, among them the comparably introspective "Nothing New" on the Doghouse label. Later that year PRMD issued "Frustrated," his most widely embraced track up to that moment. Early 2017 brought "Love Less," likewise issued with PRMD support. Several of these initial releases were collected on the 2017 debut EP AFTERIMAGE. A remixed edition, ALTERIMAGE, followed in 2018, accompanied by the single "Right Here" b/w "I Need to Know." Throughout 2019 he issued the emotive singles "I'm Alright," "How This Feels," and "Boys Should Never Cry."
