Biography
Robert Post, a Norwegian artist, surfaced around the middle of the 2000s alongside fellow singer-songwriters like James Blunt, Daniel Powter, and James Morrison, drawing heavily from the album-oriented rock sounds prevalent in the 1970s. He entered the world in the tiny settlement of Langevag back in 1979 and spent multiple years performing gigs before a pivotal moment arrived while working as a cab driver, during which a label executive caught one of his demo tracks emanating from the vehicle. Following his inking with Mercury, the artist put out his initial EP titled The Way We Are during 2004, proceeding to lay down tracks for his debut full-length record, which bore his name and involved Mike Hedges of Manic Street Preachers fame, in the subsequent year. Subsequent to backing Aimee Mann and Texas across British dates, Post achieved a modest chart success via the track "Got None," claimed a pair of Spellemannprisen Awards—the Norwegian counterpart to the Grammys—and joined Rufus Wainwright along with Imogen Heap for a show at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006. The follow-up effort he handled production duties on himself, known as Disarm & Let Go, saw release in 2009.
