Sally Harmon

New Age pianist Sally Harmon entered the world in Washington, D.C., where she first picked up tunes by ear at three and took her initial formal lessons the following year. Studying under concert pianist Stewart Gordon, she completed a master’s degree in music and launched U.S. tours; in 1985 she and her husband, jazz bassist and producer Frank Gruner, launched the Soulo Records imprint, at first hawking early releases such as Brava! and Snap, Classical, Pop! directly from the stage until the label secured nationwide distribution. During the 1990s a series of themed collections appeared, among them Romancing the Movies, Love Songs of the Beatles, and A Cozy Christmas.
