Sammy Brue, an Oregon native now based in Utah, draws inspiration from Justin Townes Earle, John Moreland, Woody Guthrie, Nirvana, Lead Belly, and Bob Dylan while crafting his own brand of Americana and country-folk. Recognized early as a prodigy, he issued his debut album I Am Nice in 2017 at just fifteen years old.

His immersion in songwriting and affinity for those genres began at ten. Three years later he was already supporting Joe Fletcher, Lukas Nelson, Lydia Loveless, Asleep at the Wheel, and Hayes Carll on stage; by fourteen he had issued two EPs and earned endorsements from Lucinda Williams and Justin Townes Earle, who mentored the teenager and featured him on the cover of his own 2014 release Single Mothers. Brue’s first full-length, I Am Nice, arrived in 2017 via New West Records with production from John Paul White and Ben Tanner. Three years afterward he delivered the follow-up album Crash Test Kid.
