Biography
Formed in 1998, the electronica outfit Satélite originated with vocalist Jamie Perlman and Puerto Rican guitarist Rick Deliz. Argentinean drummer Ronnie Buder and Mexican bassist Moisés Baqueiro completed the lineup the next year. The group reached diverse crowds by performing in both Spanish and English and by sharing stages with established Latin acts such as Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas and Bloque. Recognition arrived in 2000 when Satélite received the ASCAP Latin Award for Best Independent Rock Band, after which the band began touring Puerto Rico. Ilumina arrived in early 2001.
