Biography
In 1986 the members who would become Shadz of Lingo—MCs Lingo and Kolorado together with DJ Rocco—first encountered one another at a high school in Richmond, Virginia. Their initial collaboration took the form of rapping, yet they soon established a commercial production company in 1988. All four then relocated to Atlanta in 1991, where recording began. Their debut album appeared in 1994 and fused old-school attitudes with emerging influences drawn from Cypress Hill, dancehall, and jazz-rap. ~ John Bush
